Assignment Description:
We are looking for a Senior Control Application Engineer to join our dynamic team.
What you will work on:
- Design, implement, and verify power control algorithms and logic for FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission Systems) devices used in large-scale power quality projects.
- Develop, modify, test, and deploy control algorithms using function block programming techniques.
- Design and fine-tune control logic, including PI/PID and similar control algorithms, ensuring system stability and responsiveness.
- Conduct combined testing of control system software and hardware to ensure functionality and reliability.
- Perform Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing using real-time simulators to validate performance under realistic conditions.
- Prepare detailed customer documentation, including test procedures and technical submittals.
- Participate in factory acceptance tests (FAT) and provide hands-on technical support during verification and commissioning stages.
- Collaborate closely with SCADA, HMI, Network, and Cyber Security teams to ensure seamless integration across systems.
- Review customer specifications, attend meetings, and provide expert input to align technical solutions with project requirements.
- Maintain strong collaboration with internal engineering groups, lead engineers, and customers to drive project success.
What you bring:
- Solid understanding of FACTS applications, power systems, and control theory.
- Proven experience in developing and testing control algorithms for power electronics systems.
- Hands-on experience with simulation and modeling tools such as MATLAB or real-time simulators.
- Familiarity with signal processing and active/reactive power control concepts is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Control Systems, Power Systems, Automatic Control Theory, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with the MACH™ control system is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in English; proficiency in Swedish is an asset.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary project environment with a strong sense of responsibility and ownership.
