As part of SF Textiles growth strategy, and with the aim of being a pro-active sales organization and to increase flexibility in the location of our manufacturing activities, we are currently opening a robust and independent commercial center in Madrid which will serve as strategic hub for commercial operations globally.
As part of this exciting strategic journey of expansion of the company, we are looking for a Sales Manager Technical Textiles located in Madrid (Spain).
MISSION
Reporting to the Commercial and Operations Director in Madrid and leading directly the different Factory Account Managers based in Morocco and Turkey, the Sales Manager will have the mission of winning new customers and growing sales in the technical and medical textiles sectors. He/ She will be also in charge of leading the relation with current customers, addressing bigger-picture topics such as long-term contracts & pricing, delivery capacity & timing and new materials.
The Sales Manager Technical Textiles will be responsible for:
- Hunting for new business: build a target list, contact new prospects, set meetings, understand needs, coordinate samples, send offers, and close deals.
- Leading bigger‑picture talks at current customers: regular review meetings, long‑term prices, delivery capacity and timing and multi‑year plans.
- Working with Sourcing and Product Development Departments: prepare materials and cost lists, agree the sampling plan, and present new materials and better ways of making the product.
- Working with Logistics in Europe: check shipping plans, warehouse space, and delivery costs so that offers are realistic.
- Leading the Factory Account Managers in Morocco and Turkey: set response times, review account health each week, and decide on roles & responsibilities between their team and the team in Madrid.
- Keeping records up to date using simple templates: keep the pipeline, offers, and decisions updated and follow approval rules before sending prices.
- Accomplishing and following-up on the different KPIs for the position: new customers,sales growth, timeliness agreed for the sales process, long-term plans after client meetings, customer satisfaction surveys on service quality..etc
- JOB PROFILE
Required Studies & Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree (BA, Economics or similar).
- MBA preferred.
- Comfortable working with common business systems (ERP/CRM) and spreadsheets; clear simple reporting.
Professional experience
- 10+ years in international business‑to‑business sales in technical textiles or a similar field (medical/rehab, baby/safety, protective/industrial, or automotive).
- Leadership experience, leading preferably multinational and remote teams.
- Proven hunter experiences opening and developing new accounts. Expert in negotiation skills either for new and for current clients.
- Experience selling in Scandinavia will be valuable.
- Strong with numbers: able to build and explain prices, profit, and delivery cost; expertise in judging if a customer’s demand fits our capacity (order size, changes, lead times, product complexity).
Languages
- Excellent English; Spanish, French or German is a plus. (see if the person will be based in Madrid. In that case, our recommendation is to aim to people who speak fluent in Spanish).
