Subject area description

The subject encompasses the study of immunological mechanisms underlying the normal development of pregnancy, as well as the pathophysiological processes that can lead to pregnancy complications. The research focuses on how regulation of the immune system affects conditions such as preeclampsia, preterm birth, and miscarriage, and how disturbances in immunological signaling pathways contribute to these conditions. The subject includes preclinical and translational research aimed at identifying and characterizing biomarkers for early diagnosis, as well as developing and evaluating potential therapeutic targets in pregnancy-induced disease. By integrating immunology, reproductive medicine, and molecular methods, the field provides a foundation for improved understanding, prevention, and treatment of complications during pregnancy.
