We are Pelago Bioscience – committed to accelerating preclinical drug discovery and development for better human health. Pelago Bioscience is a specialized contract research organisation that offers biologically relevant assays to progress our customers’ drug discovery programmes.  We were founded in 2013 and are located in Solna, Stockholm. Today we are about 50 colleagues and are now seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join our team.  

Position: Scientist – Temporary/Substitution (up to 1-year)

About the role:  

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Scientist to join our team. As a Scientist at Pelago Bioscience, you will be a key contributor to both customer-facing projects and internal innovation. You will be part of a collaborative environment where scientific rigor, innovation and continuous improvement are key. Your key responsibilities are:

  • Design, plan and perform laboratory work, including TPP/PISA assays Western blotting and targeted MS-based methods
  • Proactively troubleshoot experiments and analyze data
  • Draw conclusions based on experimental findings and contribute to scientific decision making
  • Prepare high quality data reports and communicate results in a clear, concise and coherent manner.
  • Contribute to optimization of workflows, protocols and procedures to improve efficiency and quality
  • Assist in onboarding and training and share best practices across the team
  • Participate in discussions on new/improved service offerings based on client needs and scientific developments
  • Comply with safety regulations, laboratory protocols and documenting procedures.


Your Background

You have:

  • MSc in biochemistry, molecular biology, proteomics or related field
  • 2+ years of relevant industry, ideally in a CRO, biotech, or pharmaceutical environment
  • Hands-on experience with protein analysis techniques including Western blot and targeted mass spectrometry
  • Familiarity with global proteomics techniques is a strong advantage
  • Solid understanding of experimental design, data quality and result interpretation
  • Effective communication with the ability to present findings clearly and confidently
  • Well-organized, proactive and able to work independently as well as in a team


Desirable skills:

  • Experience with sample preparation for mass spectrometry-based proteomics
  • Knowledge of proteomics software (e.g. Skyline, , Proteome Discoverer) and MS data structure
  • Familiarity with quantitative methods such as TMT and DIA
  • Experience working in a regulated or quality-focused environment
