Survey and Navigation Lead

Job Summary:

The role is responsible for managing and maintaining the daily logistics and technical aspects of survey operations, combining operational coordination with seismic navigation support to ensure the efficient delivery of high-quality project outcomes.

Working closely with Project Managers, Navigators and Surveyors across ongoing and upcoming projects, the role focuses on enhancing efficiency, maintaining navigation systems and standards, and supporting crew and fleet performance to achieve best-in-class operational results.

Main Responsibilities:

· Act as an advisor to the Survey and Navigation Team.

· Provide project support, including assistance to offshore and onshore teams.

· Monitor, measure, and report on operational and HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) matters.

· Manage communications with software and hardware manufacturers.

· Prepare mobilization and calibration documents.

· Be responsible for Operational, Survey and Navigation reports.

· Participate in specific survey projects and operational tasks when assigned.

· Develop and refine survey setups and methodologies.

· Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency and data quality for offshore operations.

· Regularly review hardware and software for updates and oversee the implementation of selected developments.

· Maintain continuous communication with the Survey and Navigation Teams.

· Take responsibility for training the Survey and Navigation Teams.

· Travel to supplier/client/Company offices for meetings, and offshore projects crew changes or shipyards during mobilization.

· Ensure compliance with the Management System within their own team.

Required Competencies:

· Detailed knowledge of, and extensive experience with, marine survey methods and technologies relating to offshore geophysical surveys and remote operation centers.

· Good working knowledge of Navigation and positioning systems (Navigation software, Integrated Navigation Systems, DGPS, Acoustic positioning, Inertial Navigation Systems, Hydrography equipment, Motion sensors, etc.).

· Good knowledge and understanding of offshore survey and related EHSEQ, preferably background as Senior Surveyor and/or Project Surveyor.

· Strong knowledge in survey planning, tender support and excellent communication skills with both internal teams and clients.
